Grange Resources Limited is Australia’s most experienced magnetite producer from its iron ore mining and pellet production business located in the North-West region of Tasmania.

An exciting opportunity has become available for a Business Analyst to join our Finance team at our Burnie office in Tasmania.

The Professional Opportunity: Reporting to the Cost Control Superintendent this position will form an integral part of the Finance team handling the preparation, implementation, reporting and review of budgets and forecasts. Interaction with onsite staff will be required to support the management team with cost management, analysis and reporting.

The key responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: 

  • Assist with the distribution and development of budget and forecasting requirements to line management
  • Prepare monthly reports including cost reports, capital expenditure, cashflow forecasts and ancillary reports
  • Financial analysis and evaluations including NPV and ROI for capital investment projects
  • Commercial analysis and identification of cost reduction opportunities/strategies

To be successful in this role, you will have the following:

  • Tertiary qualification in business, economics, accounting or related discipline
  • Commercial mindset and enhanced analytical skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to establish and maintain effective communication channels
  • Advanced user of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint
