Grange Resources (ASX listed GRR) is Australia's most experienced magnetite producer from its iron ore mining and pellet production business located in the North – West region of Tasmania. 

Grange Resources is seeking a Contracts and Procurement Specialist to join the Commercial and Supply Chain Department at our Burnie Office in Tasmania. 

The Professional Opportunity:

This role provides a high level of support to the Commercial Manager and plays a key role in partnering with the business to develop and deliver major projects and commercial outcomes. This will include and not be limited to undertaking financial analysis and modelling, commercial evaluations, and assisting the business in making effective decisions. In this role, you will be working closely with project managers, providing support and ensuring delivery of strategic objectives whilst managing commercial risks, costs, and successfully completing projects on time.

Key responsibilities in this role will include but not be limited to:

  • Assisting with the development and management of commercial functions and key relationships for all major contracts and tenders
  • Coordination and financial analysis of major tender submissions across a variety of projects, services and commodities 
  • Supporting the commercial and site teams in negotiations related to major fixed plant and equipment purchases
  • Analysing data to identify opportunities to develop commercial strategies and business cases with the support of the team
  • Providing prompt support to all operational personnel in relation to commercial matters, including tendering, negotiating, drafting, and monitoring agreements 
  • Driving major commercial projects and initiatives that maximise cost efficiencies while mitigating commercial risks
  • Assisting with the development and implementation of energy strategies and sustainability projects
  • Liaising with internal stakeholders and providing procurement expertise to deliver the best procurement requirements – to schedule, cost, and quality
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives and best practices within the Commercial department and the broader business-enhancing financial performance

About you:

To be successful in this role, you will have the following:

  • Tertiary qualification in commerce, accounting, law or engineering would be advantageous
  • Minimum five years' experience in a similar position
  • Project Management experience or qualification would be advantageous
  • Advanced user of MS Office Suite (particularly Word and Excel)
  • Demonstrated ability to engage and manage multiple stakeholders
  • High level of organisational, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent commercial acumen and attention to detail
