Grange Resources (ASX listed GRR) is Australia's most experienced magnetite producer from its iron ore mining and pellet production business located in the North – West region of Tasmania. 

Grange Resources is seeking a Purchasing Officer to join the Commercial and Supply Chain Department at our Burnie Office in Tasmania. 

The Professional Opportunity:

This role provides a high level of support to the Purchasing Manager and plays a key role relating to the purchase of goods and inventory management. The successful candidate will work closely with site representatives, providing support and ensuring procurement functions are attended to in a timely manner.

Key responsibilities in this role will include but not be limited to:

  • Support with the coordination of purchasing requirements, including assisting in approving orders, raising new orders and following up with suppliers
  • Provide support to all operational personnel with purchasing matters, including support services for request for quotes, tendering, negotiating pricing arrangements for inventory items and supply related projects
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with the suppliers to ensure critical items are secured in the most cost-effective and efficient manner
  • Plan and implement supply chain optimisation projects and assist in carrying out tender evaluations, inventory management assessments and freight analysis

To be successful in this role, you will have the following:

  • Strong computer skills, specifically using Word, Excel and Stores Module
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to establish and maintain effective communication channels
  • Effective time management and interpersonal skills
  • A current full driver's licence
  • Demonstrated experience in a supply chain or warehousing environment would be desirable but not essential
  • Prior experience in mining or heavy manufacturing industry would be desirable but not essential
